Our Employment Support Officer (ESO) provides a free service to local people who are looking for work. Our primary objective is to assist people who face particular challenges in securing employment. Assistance is given with job searches, producing a CV, completing job application forms and improving Interview skills. Our ESO is available to give one-to-one employment support on a pre-booked appointment basis every Tuesday and Thursday between 9am and 1pm. Please make an appointment at reception.

Assistance with Universal Job Site is available on a drop in basis every Tuesday and Thursday between 9am and 12 noon.

The Employment Support Officer's primary objective is to get people who face particular challenges ready and fit for work by enhancing their skills and boosting their self confidence and self esteem. Work is the main route out of poverty. People who work are better off financially, and better of in terms of health, well being and self esteem.  They also have better future prospects for themselves and their families. Work promotes choice and Independence for people, supports society and increases community cohesion.

EDDT works very closely with partner organisations from the third, public and private sectors. By fostering a collaborative approach we are able to deliver suitable applicants for both low and high end jobs.

The Employment Support Service at EDDT was funded from November 2009 to March 2011 by the Coalfields Regeneration Trust (CRT), following which EDDT continues the service through the dedication of volunteers.
