28th July 2015

Doncaster Council have announced that Muse Development has agreed terms with Savoy Cinemas Ltd for the building of a new six screen state of the art cinema for the town's civic and cultural quarter at Sir Nigel Gresley Square. Around one hundred new jobs will be created as a result of this regeneration project which will also include four family restaurants.

The Mayor of Doncaster, Ros Jones, said, "This new cinema and restaurant complex will be a great addition to the Civic and Cultural Quarter which is revitalising a large part of the town centre. This new attraction [...] will continue to bring the vibrancy back into Waterdale."

The development is envisaged to start early 2016 and to be finished by the end of the year.
