DNWeekenND Volunteers Needed for Exciting Event

The DNweekeND is part of Right Up Our Street.  Right Up Our Street is all about Doncaster people choosing, making, seeing and sharing brilliant cultural ideas. 

VOLUNTEERS REQUIRED

Right Up Our Street is looking for enthusiastic and committed individuals to join their team of volunteers for this exciting event. They need volunteers to assist the event management, technical and marketing teams to deliver the event during the weekend. They also need volunteers to assist the marketing team leading up to the weekend.

Responsibilities will include: meeting and greeting performers, chaperoning walkabout entertainers during performances, giving information to the public and distributing event programmes, ensuring the public gather to watch in a safe manner, assisting the event site manager in the running of the event, helping with preparation of shop units, and assisting with the setting up and clearing away of the event. Further responsibilities for marketing volunteers supporting the event leading up to the weekend would include hand to hand distribution of promotional material, assisting with mail-outs, collating bespoke distribution lists and updating the website.

You will have the opportunity to be working with an experienced creative producer, event management/marketing professionals and professional technicians.

You will receive a detailed briefing pack prior to the event, and a full event briefing session on the day before.

You will be provided with lunch / refreshments (as appropriate) during the event and up to a maximum of £10 travel expenses will be compensated.

YOUR COMMITMENT

The event is due to take place on Friday 9 May (afternoon), Saturday 10 May & Sunday 11 May (all day - 11am-5pm approx.)

Availability for the whole weekend would be ideal, but volunteers are asked for a commitment in volunteering for at least one of the days (all day).  Attendance at the briefing session is required.

A final event volunteer briefing session will take place on Thursday 8 May – 6pm-8pm at The Point/Cast (venue to be confirmed). Attendance for volunteers at this session is compulsory.
