Caroline Flint at local exhibition to remember Miners' Strike

Caroline Flint, MP for Don Valley, joined ex miners and residents at a photographic exhibition at the Broadway Hotel, Dunscroft to remember the year long Miners' Strike.

Hatfield ward councillor, Pat Knight, said, "This event brought back a flood of memories.[...] Pete and Winn Thompson's soup kitchen was legendary.  It was extraordinary how it brought people together."

Pete and his wife Winn ran the the Broadway Hotel which hosted the soup kitchen during the strike.

Caroline Flint said,"No one would want to see those events repeated but the solidarity and community was remarkable."
