Yorkshire Ambulance Service seeking community scheme volunteers

15th May 2014

The Yorkshire Ambulance Service is currently seeking new volunteers in Carcroft, Rossington, Tickhill, Thorne, Moorends and surrounding areas for its community scheme.

The scheme provides immediate life-saving care in emergency medical situations which can include heart attacks, breathing dificulties or a colapse. Volunteers will be expected to provide care in the vital minutes before the ambulance arrives.

Warren Bostock, community defibrillation trainer for the ambulance service in South Yorkshire said, "Community first responders make a valuable contribution to their communities. Being a first responder can be extremely rewarding and I would encourage anyone who may be interested in taking on the role to get in touch."
