Food waste recycler ReFood to be extended creating 30 jobs

16th July 2014

An anaerobic digestion plant is to be extended to double its present size increasing its workforce by one hundred percent. Britcon, the contractor, has secured a 1.85 million contract to extend the plant for ReFood who, in 2013, secured planning consent to accept 160,000 tonnes of food waste that would otherwise go to landfill. Elecricity will be generated from the plant through combined heat and power and will be fed into the National Grid.

Work has already started and the site is expected to be completed in six months.
